Batlagundu Hospital

A well established hospital with an excellent reputation, serving the poor and marginalised in the town and surrounding villages, with a population of some 300,000 people.

Many years ago, Children United! helped to pay for beds and equipment for the new children's ward at Batlagundu hospital.

In 2009, Rosemary Mitchell, family and friends, gave the money to buy an infusion pump, used for continuous intravenous infusion of drugs for sick children.  We also sent a quantity of digital thermometers, diabetic blood testing equipment and specialist burns dressings.

We were also given two nebulisers which help children who have breathing problems such as asthma.  One went to this hospital and the other to the hospital at Punalure.

In 2010, we sent out two HUGE boxes of dressings, plasters, bandages and such like, for use in the children's clinic.

'Ely Ladies' keep us supplied with knitted tiny hats, cardigans and blankets for the premature babies.

Update - June 2017 - more knitted baby clothes, ready to go out to India in October.  Thanks to lots of lovely ladies in Ely!
